Shep Elem FRC & M.U.W. BUILD-A-BED PROGRAM
Pending Board approval, Shepherdsville Elementary FRC is partnering with metro United Way and our community to create a Build A Bed Program. Our program will provide 50 beds to our students that do not have beds. We believe that everyone deserves a good night sleep! Shepherdsville Elementary Family Resource Center and Metro Unitted Way are working together to find sponors for this program. Shepherdsville Elementary will serve as the building site.
Media coverage will be of our building teams creating beds, and of the gym full of 50 beds! All of our sponors will be recognized!
We began our project when we heard thaat one of my students was sleeping on a large dog bed with his dog, and did not have a bed. We then started to explore others that may not have beds. We have students sleeping on the floor, on couches, and several children sharing small twin beds.
